Your code snippet runs fine and I get a ‘Success…..' - but no app opens? All Windows versions come with "Windows Update" application which automatically downloads and installs important updates and hotfixes released by Microsoft to improve Windows performance, security and to fix problems and vulnerabilities this is insane. Do I need to restart my computer before I see any icon in the taskbar. I did download the first Windows Update Notifier but it crashed my system so I deleted it. You're a star! Go to Local Group Policy Editor. All the tasks were there, uninstalled/resinstalled the update, ran the scripts, all successful. blahblahblacksheep MS may have done this on purpose.
Sorry I can't help you, but I'm having the exact same problem. After a major update a few days ago, one of the computers stopped displaying the BitDefender system tray icon. Simple and Really Helpful. So, did you install Windows 7 recently on the test system?
Does anyone know a way to manually get the 2952664 update? I've always expected the notification bar to tell me i have XX # of updates but it doesn't. The links are in this post. It lasts until the next reboot.
