If you think it is the video card 'borrow' one from anotyher system to give it a go. The dark cloud that always hangs over such issues is the possibility that the hard drive or another component in the computer may be failing. Reassembled and Now removed all HDD, Cd drive, Battery, RAM's, PCMCIA card and tried to power up still no joy.
