Always have backups, always save after every change, always use Dropbox (or something similar) to save previous... Select the "Repair Your Computer" option and press Enter to boot into recovery mode. Turns out since it was an upgrade the same trojan, virus, or browser exploit went right along with the upgrade, because it wasn't a clean install.
