I just rolled back the driver to Version 361.91 and everything's alright once again. Dang it Nvidia, why you have torture us multi-monitor users? But the V/C HDMI is set as the default. Ddu BSOD + Reboot loop due to no display rendering.

Oh and windows 10 is hard to boot up in safe mode ! They're not really the cheapo kind you get as an afterthought, if that helps. Should I install my old graphics card back and see if that will allow Realtek to install again. I hit troubleshoot and enter Safe Mode with Networking, and go to control panel, display adapters, click my graphics card, and roll back the driver once.
Unplugging the HDMI and just using the DVI works fine. So for example, my default sound output had not switched to another device and was still set exactly as it always had been.
